A "Friendly competition" was conducted at the USA Gymnastics Women's National Training Center in Huntsville, Texas on January 19. This was the first time for USA Women's Gymnastics to use the new FIG Code of Points.
In the team scoring, USA was first with a score of 237.10; Japan second (215.05; and New Zealand third (197.80).
The All-around placment was 1) Shawn Johnson - USA 60.20; 2) Jacquelyn Johnson - USA 57.45, 3) Ivana Hong - USA 56.75.
