Born on March 26, 1992 to Dave and Lin Caquatto, Mackenzie is currently competing as a senior international elite gymnast. She trains at Naperville Gymnastics Club in Illinois under Yuejiu Li and Jiani Wu. Mackenzie's little sister, Bridgey, is also an elite gymnast! Mackenzie will graduate from high school in 2010. She earned a full scholarship to the University of Florida.

She began gymnastics at the age of two in a mother-daughter class at Elite Sports Complex with Nancy King. Mackenzie has loved the sport ever since. Mackenzie also participated in rhythmic gymnastics at Elite Rhythmics under Maria Barakova. She qualified for the Future Stars National Team. Because of time constraints, Mackenzie was eventually forced to pick between rhythmic and artistic gymnastics.

Mackenzie was very successful at all levels of the junior olympic program. She finished third all-around at Level 8 Regionals in 2004. She jumped up to level ten in 2005. Mackenzie won the state beam title that year. In 2006, she won her first level ten state all-around title. She also participated in her first JO National Championships! Unfortunately, her performance was hampered by food poisioning.

In 2007, Mackenzie made major gains in her gymnastics career. She won the level 10 State and Regional titles! She also became the JO National Champion! Shortly before JO Nationals, she qualified to junior international elite. Mackenzie competed at the US Classic and qualified to the US National Championships. She finished her season with a top twenty finish.

She opened 2008 with the Sand Dollar Invitational. She won bars and beam. At the Dragon Invitatinal, she successfully qualified to junior international elite. The enxt day, she won bars, beam and the all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She finished second all-around and first on bars and beam at the Circle of the Stars meet. At the Midwest Open, she swept the gold medals. Mackenzie qualified to the US National Championships at the May Elite Qualifier. She had the third highest score. At the US Classic. Mackenzie finished fourth all-around. She won vault. At the US National Championships, she made her first national team. She also qualified for the Olympic Trials.

In 2009, Mackenzie received her first international assingment to the USA vs. Japan meet. She won vault and placed second all-around. Mackenzie was later picked for the European Tour. She finished third all-around against Germany and second against France. Coming off of an injury, Mackenzie competed on uneven bars only at the Covergirl Classic. She returned to all-around competition at the Visa Championships. Despite limited training time, Mackenzie placed fifth all-around, making her second US National Team. She also won a bronze on uneven bars. She was the alternate for the World Championships. In December, she placed second on bars at the Toyota Cup.

Mackenzie had a strong 2010 season. She started the year by winning the all-around title at the IGI Chicago Style. She then earned an international assignment to the City of Jesolo meet, where she helped team USA win a gold medal. In July, Mackenzie finished third all-around at the Covergirl Classic, despite a fall on beam. She placed second on vault and bars. At the Visa Championships, Mackenzie finished fifth all-around and fourth on uneven bars. She also finished in the top eight on beam and floor. After two selection camps, Mackenzie earned a spot on the World Championship Team. In the preliminary session, she competed in the all-around, finishing ninth. She did not advance to all-around finals due to a two per country limit. In team finals, Mackenzie competed on vault and bars. Her performances helped the United States finish second.

Mackenzie joined the University of Florida Gators in December of 2010. She made her competitive debut on uneven bars against Nebraska, placing second. She added balance beam the next weekend against Kentucky. She finished second on bars and third on beam. The following weekend against LSU, Mackenzie competed on vault, bars and beam. She placed third on beam. In a tri-meet with Penn State and NC State, Mackenzie competed on bars, beam and floor. She placed second on all three events. In her first all-around action against Alabama, Mackenzie won bars, beam and the all-around. Her performance earned SEC Freshman of the Week. She followed this performance by placing third all-around against Georgia. Mackenzie won bars and beam against Auburn and in a quad meet with WVU, UNH and GWU. She finished the last two weeks of regular season by winning bars against Arkansas one week and Utah the next. She was limited by a sprained ankle at the SEC Championships. She still finished fourth on bars. At the NCAA Regional Championships, she won bars and placed fourth on beam. Mackenzie competed in the all-around in the preliminary session of the NCAA Championships. She returned to elite action at the Covergirl Classic in July. She competed on bars and beam. Mackenzie placed fourth on beam.
